Geriatric Training for Physicians, Dentists, and Behavioral and Mental Health Providers (GTPD)

Purpose

The Geriatric Training for Physicians, Dentists, and Behavioral and Mental Health Providers (GTPD) program supports fellowships and other training efforts that assist physicians, dentists, and behavioral and mental health professionals who plan to teach geriatric medicine, geriatric dentistry, or geriatric behavioral and mental health.  

Eligibility

Eligible applicants are accredited schools of allopathic medicine, schools of osteopathic medicine, teaching hospitals, and graduate medical education programs.  A graduate medical education program is a program sponsored by a school of medicine, a school of osteopathic medicine, a hospital, or a public or private institution that (1) offers postgraduate medical training in the specialties and subspecialties of medicine and (2) has been accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the American Osteopathic Association through its Committee on Postdoctoral Training.
