Physician Assistant Training in Primary Care

No Physician Assistant Training in Primary Care grant competition is planned for FY 2015.

The Predoctoral Training in Primary Care, Residency Training in Primary Care, Physician Faculty Development in Primary Care, Physician Assistant Training in Primary Care, and Interdisciplinary Interprofessional Joint Grad Degree have been combined into the Primary Care Training and Enhancement Program, which focuses on training for transforming health care systems and enhancing the clinical training experience.

The purpose of the Physician Assistant Training in Primary Care program is to support projects that plan, develop, and operate a physician assistant education program and for the training of individuals who will teach in programs to provide such training.  Funds may also be used to plan, develop, and operate a program for the training of physician assistants teaching in community-based settings.

Eligible entities include public or private accredited physician assistant education programs that teach physician assistant students to provide primary care medical services under the supervision of a physician.
