Table 1shows that the decline in RN graduates for Louisiana was more dramatic between 2000 and 2001 than in previous years. This could indicate that the RN workforce shortage is just beginning in Louisiana. The Louisiana Board of Regents provides data on number of BSN graduates by University, and shows that the decline in graduates was more dramatic in HBCUs than in majority schools.
