Health Centers Potentially Affected Under Proposed New Designation Guidelines

A U.S. map shows the 51 U.S. States and territories in which zero health centers would be affected by the proposed rule: Designation of Medically Underserved Populations and Health Professional Shortage Areas.

Six States and one territory have health centers that potentially would require State and local data to maintain their designations, as follows:

States with fewer than 10%: Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York

State with 20% or fewer: Maine

States with 30% or fewer: New Hampshire, Puerto Rico

States with 40% or fewer: Vermont
